After a storm has happened, you will need to go out and check your roof because if there is damage you will need to call in professionals to assist you with the damage on your roof.  Here are some ways to check your roof for storm damage; you will need to look on the ground for any shingles that may have been blown off by strong winds, you will need to thoroughly check inside of your home for any leaks, and if you have an attic you will need to check there first for leaks. If the hail was present during the storm, you will need to check your roof shingles for dents, and for any shingles that may have been broken due to the hail. We do recommend that you hire experts to do the rooftop inspection as the roof will be wet or damaged, and you could slip.  If you have metal roofs, your roof will be more resistant but can still suffer damage from hail.

Is a storm-damaged roof considered an emergency?
In some cases, yes a storm-damaged roof can be considered an emergency especially if your roof is leaking profusely or if the ceiling falls in. A severe storm can damage a few areas of your roof and can collapse, this is also an emergency.
